Six excavators spread across Onni 606 as early earthwork expands

A high-resolution photograph taken Tuesday afternoon shows six tracked excavators distributed across the Onni 606 block, up from four visible in the construction-camera frame used for the site's July 17 update. Five machines are fully visible and a sixth is partly screened by the foreground trees. The frame also shows a tracked dozer, a yellow water truck and several support vehicles. A still image establishes the equipment present, not whether every machine was moving at that instant.

The clearest four-day change is at the northeast side of the block. On July 17, much of that area still read as a pale, comparatively continuous hard surface. By July 21 it is a broad field of fractured concrete or aggregate with an excavator positioned inside it. Across the center and south, the earlier uneven cut and scattered material have given way to a wider, smoother, track-marked grade, while the remaining bright rubble is concentrated in smaller zones near the northeast edge and foreground.

The two photographs differ in resolution and framing, so they do not support a reliable area or material-volume calculation. They do show the operation spreading over more of the block: excavators now occupy the north, center and south work areas rather than clustering mainly around the July 17 cut. No perimeter shoring wall is visible, and the exposed grade remains shallow relative to the planned five-level garage.

Bellevue's inspection record moved alongside the field work. Under issued early-works clear-and-grade permit 21-133872-GD, the city logged a second initial erosion-control inspection on July 20 with the status "Ongoing" and no note. That follows the July 14 inspection marked "Partial with Corrections," when the inspector directed the contractor to install catch-basin inserts along 106th Avenue NE. "Ongoing" records continued inspection activity; it is not a final pass or a new permit issuance.

The permit boundary described in the July 17 update is otherwise unchanged through July 21. Dedicated mass-excavation and shoring permit 21-134212-BV and below-grade building permit 24-104362-BB both remain Pending. The larger temporary construction-power permit remains Ready to Issue, and the heavy-equipment fuel-cube permit remains Pending. No new project-scale application appeared on the parcel on July 20 or 21.

The best current description is therefore an expanding early-earthwork operation: six excavators and a dozer are spread across a substantially cleared and graded block, while Bellevue continues erosion-control inspections under the issued early-grading permit. The separate approvals for perimeter shoring and the deep garage excavation have not yet arrived.
