Onni 606 Mass Excavation and Shoring Permit Issued by City of Bellevue

The City of Bellevue has issued the mass excavation and shoring permit for the Onni 606 development, a significant step for the three-tower project.

The independent tracker onni606.com reports that the City of Bellevue has issued permit 21-134212-BV, covering mass excavation and shoring for the Onni 606 development. This permit, previously in 'Ready to Issue' status, has now moved to 'Issued,' authorizing the foundational work for the future two residential towers and one office tower at 606 and 620 106th Avenue NE.

This issuance marks a key progression for the project, which involves three towers planned to reach approximately 600 feet in height. While the permit allows for deep excavation and the installation of shoring systems, it does not constitute a groundbreaking announcement, nor does it authorize the construction of the building superstructures. The four primary superstructure building permits (25-105052-BB for the podium, 25-105181-BB for Tower 1, 25-105109-BB for Tower 2, and 25-105295-BB for Tower 3) remain in 'Pending' status.

The Onni 606 site has seen prior activity, with the demolition of existing structures and surface slab completed. Recent photographic evidence from July 21 showed excavators and a tracked dozer operating across a graded area, consistent with initial site preparation. The newly issued mass excavation and shoring permit now formally clears the way for the substantial underground work required for the project's five-level garage.

In a related development, permit 26-118407-TJ, concerning the relocation of a PSE gas main, has also transitioned from 'Pending' to 'Issued.' This permit specifically addresses the cutting and capping of an existing 1-1/4 inch main located 400 feet south of NE 8th Street and 26 feet west of 106th Avenue NE, a necessary utility adjustment for the large-scale development.
