An October 7 Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce report by Brian Miller describes earthwork, stacked shoring steel, drilling rigs and portable offices observed during a visit the preceding weekend. The October 13 Registry article's publicly accessible introduction also describes shoring and excavation. Its full story requires a subscription; the introduction alone does not establish the basis for every reported figure.
DJC reports six underground levels and about 2,455 parking stalls. Those numbers differ from the approved plan-refinement record, which describes 1,712 stalls across five below-grade levels. The Registry introduction also uses six levels. The coverage does not provide a reconciled city approval replacing the five-level record, so this guide retains the approved figures and attributes the discrepancy to the reporting.
DJC also describes a possible 400-room hotel in the north tower and up to 1,300 apartments in the other two. Bellevue's October 14 parcel ledger still lists the hotel-relocation application, 26-106943-LJ, and its linked concurrency record as Pending. Until an amended approval establishes replacement totals, the June 2022 baseline remains 1,059 residences, 257 hotel rooms and 871,818 square feet of office.
The reporting adds a dated site visit and useful context for the proposed housing-and-hotel shift. Permit issuance, field observations and proposed quantities answer different questions; neither an excavation headline nor a leasing figure establishes approval of the revised tower program.
